Greater Portland Redesignated by the U.S. Department of Commerce as a Manufacturing Community for Food Production
Today (9/27/16), U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker announced that Greater Portland has been redesignated as one of the nation’s 24 Manufacturing Communities. The redesignation will help Greater Portland achieve its goal of doubling the region’s food manufacturing employment in 10 years through catalytic investments in workforce, supply chain, R&D, access to capital, international trade, and infrastructure.
