The General Assembly meets annually and serves as the policy making body of the GPCOG. The duties and functions of the General Assembly include: election of officers; adoption of the annual GPCOG budget and the dues assessment; adoption and amendment of GPCOG Bylaws; establishment of policy guidelines for the Executive Committee and policy changes necessary to accommodate changes in the GPCOG region.
The Executive Committee (pdf), consisting of one representative from each member community, is the policy implementing body of the GPCOG. Its duties and functions include the authority to:
- propose an annual budget and annual dues assessment to the General Assembly;
- approve regional policies, studies and plans where required;
- receive, hold and disburse funds and enter into necessary contracts for the GPCOG;
- provide for an annual audit;
- exercise such municipal powers as may be delegated to GPCOG by any of its members; and
- propose to the General Assembly seven (7) nominees to serve as the Steering Committee of the Executive Committee.
The Steering Committee (pdf) is a subcommittee of the Executive Committee comprised of seven (7) members, all of whom are Executive Committee representatives including the (3) Officers of the GPCOG.
The Steering Committee meets at least every other month and acts on behalf of the Executive Committee and as directed by the Executive Committee, including the oversight of the GPCOG operations budget, investments and financial matters.
