Geographic Information System (GIS) Services
A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a collection of computer hardware, software and geographic data for capturing, storing, updating, manipulating, analyzing and displaying all forms of geographically referenced information. The Greater Portland Council of Governments and its member municipalities use GIS for a wide range of projects including economic development, transportation and land-use planning, natural resource protection and hazard mitigation.
GPCOG provides technical support to member municipalities, estimates on custom mapping, as well as on data and application development, as time permits.
