Municipal Energy Committee Workshop

2010-02-04

The first step in reducing energy consumption and energy costs is to form a Municipal Energy Committee. The workshop below will not only help municipalities form energy committees, but it will also help existing committees build capacity through effective meetings, goal setting and other strategies.

Those of you who applied for a $10,000 planning Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant may find this particularly timely. Efficiency Maine expects to announce awards soon, and the first step in the planning grant process is to form an energy committee. Awardees for these non-competitive grants will not receive full funding until the names of energy committee members are submitted to Efficiency Maine.

Again, this workshop is applicable and relevant to any municipality, with tips for forming new committees and tips for strengthening existing committees. It is also free and open to the public.
