The Region’s Top Transportation Priorities

GPCOG and PACTS this winter held a series of six meetings around the region to help identify the region’s top transportation priorities. The highest priorities for participants were:Improve and expand public transportationInstall better traffic signals and create safer intersectionsEncourage housing in places people are already living and working.Other priorities included the importance of diverting downtown traffic to the Turnpike, expanding sidewalks and bike lanes for commuters, and expanding highway capacity, including building the Gorham connector.
