Planning
We provide holistic solutions to the economic, environmental, social, and mobility challenges facing our region. From rural to urban, we offer a range of project management and planning services to help our communities fulfill their visions as well as connect communities to funding opportunities.
Services
Community Engagement & Outreach — we facilitate public design charrettes, identify and recruit key stakeholders, develop and analyze surveys, and help establish a vision for the community.
Data, Mapping, and Information Visualization — we create custom maps, capture drone images and video, provide sea-level rise assessments, and more.
Education — we offer a variety of opportunities for local planners and elected officials to convene and discuss planning efforts in their communities.
Land Use Planning — we develop municipal comprehensive plans and special area plans.
Urban Design & Preservation — we help communities develop adaptive reuse strategies, create historic guidelines, pursue LEED certification, implement tactical urbanism projects, and more.
Zoning & Other Regulatory Standards — we help communities identify and implement zoning solutions, align parking demand requirements with local context, and more.
Funding
Our planning services are funded with municipal dues, as well as with grants from the Maine Department of Transportation and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. For larger projects, a fee-for-service contract can be arranged.
We are also able to assist our members with finding additional technical and financial resources to help make sure the region's planning needs are met.
