City of Westbook declares emergency and closes all municipal facilities

Posted on March 16, 2020 at 8:27 PM by Tom Bell

Westbrook Mayor Michael T. Foley has directed the closure of all municipal facilities to the general public until further notice. As allowed per the City’s Emergency Management Ordinance, Mayor Foley has signed an Emergency Proclamation declaring a State of Emergency in the City of Westbrook until further notice. This action, under consultation of City Staff & City Council President Rairdon, gives us the ability to make emergency decisions for the protection of the City and provides us access to critical federal funds and resources.

"Given these closures," Foley said in a statement, "we strongly encourage the use of telephone, email, and online services wherever possible for conducting business with the City."
