South Portland shuts down bus service due to lack of drivers

Posted on May 8, 2020 at 5:31 PM by Tom Bell

Due to a shortage of drivers for various reasons, the City of South Portland will cease all bus operations at the end of the day today. Service will resume on Tuesday, May 19. While the City cannot comment on whether COVID-19 played a role in the decision to temporarily cease operations, we have no reason to believe there is any health threat to the public. We apologize for the inconvenience that we know this will cause for those who rely upon our service and we look forward to resuming operations on May 19.

For more information about the South Portland Bus Service, please contact Operations Supervisor Richard Sargent at rsargent@southportland.org or call 767-5556.

Gray Town Hall opening on May 4

Posted on April 29, 2020 at 9:25 PM by Tom Bell

The Gray Town Hall will be opening for in-person service on Monday, May 4th.

We ask all residents to please remain in your cars and call into the building @ 657-3339 to let someone know that you are there.

You will then be retrieved by a Town employee from your car. You will not be permitted into the Town Hall for service if you are not wearing a face covering. Operating hours will be as usual.

We ask for your patience during this new method of service to the public, as our staff will only be able to serve a limited number of people at a time.

Thank you, and we look forward to assisting you.
