Community and Regional Planning

GPCOG provides a range of planning services to our members including comprehensive planning, neighborhood master planning, ordinance development and workshop facilitation. We assist local communities with research, grant writing, comprehensive and master planning, ordinance development, climate resiliency strategies and workshop facilitation.

GPCOG also partners with its member communities to provide regional land-use and transportation planning support.

Our planning services are funded with municipal dues, as well as with grants from the Maine Department of Transportation and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. For larger projects, a fee-for-service contract can be arranged. We are also able to assist our members with finding additional technical and financial resources to help make sure the region’s planning needs are met.
