Facilitation

In this age of political polarization, local government can lead the way in defining a new civility. Effective, efficient, and well-attended public meetings are a critical component to shaping decisions across the region.

We convene local communities on critical issues and foster civic dialogue to maximize community engagement. GPCOG offers a suite of tools that meet the diverse range of municipal needs:

  • Consultation and training on best practices in community engagement
  • Acting as a neutral convener by planning and facilitating a single or series of meetings
  • Designing and running public processes
  • Providing engagement technology such as keypad polling/

Recently, facilitator Craig Freshley offered leadership training to a group of board chairs and vice chairs.  Craig has researched the issue extensively. Highlights of his recommendations can be found here.
