Free Renewable Energy Workshop for Maine Agriculture Producers and Rural Small Businesses

The Greater Portland Council of Governments, funded by USDA Rural Development, and the Sunrise County Economic Council are hosting a free renewable energy workshop in Machias on May 11 for Maine agriculture producers and rural small businesses.

Find out about how to sign up for a free site visit at your farm or business and get a pre-feasibility report that will help you get started on your renewable energy project. The workshop will also address solar energy and how to access USDA Rural Development guaranteed loan and competitive grant funds through the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). The funds are available for the purchase, installation and construction of renewable energy systems and energy efficiency projects.

Small businesses and agriculture producers considering financing options for renewable energy can also find out more about financial resources available through the Sunrise County Economic Council (SCEC) and Farm Service Agency (FSA) programs.
