This winter we held a series of six meetings around the region in GPCOG and PACTS communities to help identify the region’s top transportation priorities. The highest priorities for participants were:
- Improve and expand public transportation
- Install better traffic signals and create safer intersections
- Encourage housing in places people are already living and working.
Other priorities included the importance of diverting downtown traffic to the Turnpike, expanding sidewalks and bike lanes for commuters, and expanding highway capacity, including building the Gorham connector.
